Included in the most successful black female actress is Phylicia Rashad. Aside from acting, she also enjoys being a stage director and a singer. She rose to fame after starring in The Cosby Show, where she earned several Emmy Award nominations. She was then named at the NAACP Image Awards in 20120 as The Mother Of The Black Community. It was the greatest privilege she received besides investments.

For her portrayal in A Raisin in the Sun, she also became the first black actress to receive a Tony Award for Best Actress in a Play. Rashad’s other Broadway projects were Jelly’s Last Jam, Gem of the Ocean, Into the Woods, and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. Likewise, she appeared in various films like Creed, Creed II, Good Deeds, and For Colored Girls. At 72 years old, Rashad still works in the industry and shows performances that won’t disappoint her fans.
