Miiko Taka

Miiko Taka is an American actress of Japanese descent. She became famous for her films Walk Don’t Run, Operation Bottleneck, and Sayonara, to name a few. Her parents migrated from Japan to Seattle, where the actress was born. Taka’s acting career started unexpectedly. After Audrey Hepburn turned down the role of Hana-ogi, the director of Sayonara, Joshua Logan, went on a search to find the perfect fit for the role.

Taka was working at the travel agency at the time and had no prior acting experience. She still ended up getting the role and impressing critics and the people from Warner Bros., who gave her a contract. She went on to do 15 more films before retiring in 1982 after starring in The Challenge. The actress is 95 years old and currently living in Las Vegas, Nevada with her second husband Lennie Blondheim.
