RITA MORENO
Rita Moreno is known as the first Latina woman who has earned four major entertainment awards. In the span of 70 years, the Puerto Rican actress has already received awards from Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony. Her great contribution to the industry was recognized in 2004 when she received the Presidential Medal of Freedom award. At such a young age, Moreno already knew how to earn a living and make money. She was 11 years old when she got her first job, recording Spanish-language versions of films from the United States. She then made her debut on Broadway when she worked on the Skydrift. In 1950, Moreno had her first movie role in So Young, So Bad, giving her the opportunity of a seven-year contract with MGM Studios.
As her fame began to rise, her fortune also increased to multi-millions, reaching up to $25 million. This amount can surely cover her lifetime expenses and pay existing cash loans if she ever had one. Even when she already reached the retirement age, Moreno is not one to back down and leave the industry she has poured her life into. At 89 years old, she is still actively acting today, balancing her role as Lydia in Netflix’s One Day at a Time, while executive producing West Side Story. Moreno will also appear in this new Steven Spielberg movie remake.
