DOLLY PARTON
Dolly Parton is a legend in the country music industry. Her life started in the mountains of East Tennessee, where her mother often entertained them with Smoky Mountain folklores and ballads. Those stories left an impression on young Dolly and drove her to write the song My Tennessee Mountain Home. She got hooked on playing instruments and started performing when her uncle bought her first real guitar.
Parton then appeared on several radio and TV programs in their area and appeared on The Cas Walker Show when she was ten. She met Johnny Cash who pushed her to take her career to the next degree. Throughout the years, she has been hailed as one of the most-honored female country performers. Her albums have either reached Gold, Platinum, or Multi-Platinum. Parton has also earned ten Grammy Awards, including her 2011 Lifetime Achievement Grammy.
