George Maharis

George Maharis is an American actor who is notable for his performances in Route 66 and The Naked City. He graduated from Flushing High School and was enlisted for the United States Marine Corps for almost two years. Maharis was initially interested to pursue singing. However, poor singing lessons ruined his vocal chords, so he switched to a path towards acting instead. He honed his skills at Neighborhood Playhouse and Actor’s Studio. Since then, he started booking significant roles.

In 1960, alongside Martin Milner, their series Route 66 presented him with an Emmy nomination for his performance as Buz Murdock. Maharis then took advantage of his fame and continued his dream to be a recording artist. He was able to produce six albums throughout his career. He is now 93 years old and currently residing in Beverly Hills, California, where mortgage rates are through the roof. However, we are sure he has no problem with the upkeep as he had a successful career for over 40 years.
