MIMI GIBSON

Mimi Gibson earned her credit in the entertainment industry as a child actor. She started working when she was a mere 18 months old. Throughout the ‘50s to the ‘60s, Gibson acted in over 30 films and an estimated 200 television episodes. One of her biggest roles was as Elizabeth Winters, the daughter of Cary Grant’s daughter, in Houseboat. She has since stated that she wants to be remembered for that role.

Unfortunately, despite her early success in the industry, Gibson had a hard time finding jobs as she got older. At the age of 19, she decided to leave Hollywood and find work as a real estate agent instead. She is friends with her Houseboat co-star Paul Petersen, who founded the nonprofit group A Minor Consideration. Gibson is an active member of the organization, which advocates for the protection of child actors.
