L. Q. Jones
L. Q. Jones is an American director and actor who was born on August 19, 1927, in Beaumont, Texas. He earned his degree from Lamar University and briefly enrolled in the University of Texas to study law. He rose to fame in the 1960s after becoming a frequent collaborator of the late director Sam Peckinpah. Jones is a man who has also played different roles off-screen.
He worked various jobs as a stand-up comedian, a baseball player, a football player, and a rancher in Nicaragua before getting into show business. Aside from his films with Peckinpah, his notable works were Battle Cry, wherein he used his real name, Justus McQueen, and A Boy and His Dog, which he produced, directed and wrote the screenplay of. Now 93 years old, he seems to have taken a step back from the spotlight altogether.
