Joanne Linville
Joanne Linville is an American actress who made waves on television in the 1950s to 1980s. Before she became an actress, she worked as a surgeon’s assistant. She then worked as a professional dancer to pay her dues while studying acting. She studied alongside Stella Adler and got her permission to use her name to open the Stella Adler Studio of Acting in Los Angeles.
The school turned out to be an amazing investment for Linville, as it has produced notable alumni like Henry Winkler, Warren Beatty, and Robert De Niro, to name a few. As an actress, Linville has appeared in critically acclaimed motion pictures such as A Star is Born, The Goddess, and Gable and Lombard. In 2011, she also wrote a book on acting entitled Joanne Linville’s Seven Steps to an Acting Craft. The actress just turned 93 this year.
