BARBARA MANDRELL
Barbara Mandrell, who is an epitome of an award-winning actress and singer, is now 72 years old. She is the recipient of many awards, including four Academy of Country Music Awards, two Grammy Awards, four Country Music Association Awards, and seven American Music Awards. Furthermore, she is the first musician who attained two Country Music Association Awards for Entertainer of the Year and won the Academy of Country Music Award for Entertainer of the Year. While some might consider their awards as simply that, she treasured them as their investments in life.
At a young age, Mandrell learned how to play lap steel and pedal steel guitars as well as other musical instruments like the saxophone, banjo, and accordion. Over the course of her career, she is regarded as among the country’s most successful female vocalists across the world. In 2009, she was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame for the service and contributions she made to the music industry.
