Sharona Alperin is an American singer. My Sharona was one of the most iconic songs that also held the number one spot in Billboard’s Top 100 singles chart for almost 6 weeks. In 1979, it also was the number one song on the Top Pop Singles year-end chart. For those of you who do not know, the song was inspired by Sharona Alperin. She happens to be the girlfriend of one of the members of the band. They got engaged but they decided to call it off.
