In 1972, Hackman won the 44th Academy Awards, the 29th American Golden Globe Awards for Best Actor for film The French Connection, and won the Best Actor Award of the 26th British Film Academy Award in 1973. In 1993, Hackman won the Best Actor Award in the 65th Academy Awards, the 50th Golden Globe Awards and the 46th British Film Academy Awards for Unforgiven.

This multi-awarded actor has a current net worth of $90 million and it has been reported that he received $2 million for playing the role of Lex Luthor in Superman. His final acting role was in 2004, and in the same year, he appeared on Larry King and announced that he does not have any acting projects lined up. Instead, he went on to write three novels which were all successful. He is currently retired and must have enough investment money, excluding his $90 million net worth.
