Berry Gordy is a prominent personality in the record label industry. As the founder of the popular Motown record label and its subsidiaries, he played an important role in the making of superstar singers and bands such as Diana Ross, Marvin Gaye, The Supremes, Michael Jackson, and many others. Motown also became the highest-earning record label that capitalized on African-American talents. He took pride in producing the greatest R&B hits from the 1960s to 1970s.
