Gladys Knight’s solo debut began at the tender age of 4, and by the age of 8, she was singing with her siblings, creating a group named The Pips. They became the opening number for various artists including Jackie Wilson as well as Sam Cooke. They did have a great time with Motown Records before moving on to Buddah Records where they transitioned to pop music. The signature song of Knight and the Pips was Midnight Train to Georgia, and it was in the mid-’70s when they reached their peak celebrity status.

Their last album together was titled All Our Love which included the hit single Love Overboard.
