TED DANSON – ENVIRONMENTALIST
Although he was quite athletic during his high-school years, Ted Danson ultimately decided to pursue a career in the acting industry, with one of his earlier stints being in the TV show Somerset. After a few other gigs here and there, Ted finally got his breakthrough with his role as Sam Malone in the sitcom Cheers, earning him 11 Emmy nominations and nine Golden Globe nominations, winning two of each.
Since then, the actor still has quite a successful career in the industry, with his most recent acting credit being in the TV show Mr. Mayor. Besides acting, Ted is also a well-known environmentalist, particularly showing concern with the world’s oceans. In 1991, in support of his advocacy, Ted got the chance to host Challenges of the Seas. A few years later, in 2011, the actor also dabbled in the writing business, co-writing his first book Oceana alongside journalist Michael D’Orso.
