Keely Shaye – TV Host and Producer
Keely Shaye Smith got her start in the music video for Huey Lewis’ song Stuck with You in 1986. While it made her a familiar face to audiences, it was her role in General Hospital as Valerie Freeman that Shaye gained prominence. She was on the show for only a single season, but it helped move her career forward. Following this, Shaye switched gears and became an environmental correspondent on ABC’s The Home Show. She would stay with the program for over six years, earning multiple accolades, including two Genesis Awards.
Her commitment to the environment certainly deserves a lot of credit. Shaye would continue to host several other programs, including Unsolved Mysteries, from 1995 to 1997. Together with her husband, Pierce Brosnan, she also created and produced the eco-friendly garden DIY show, Home Green Home for PBS.
