Richard Gere – Social Activist

Since he debuted in the 1970s, it seems that Richard Gere’s career has only continued to rise. His supporting role in the movie Looking for Mr. Goodbar helped open the door to more opportunities for the Gere. By the 1980s, he established himself as one of the industry’s most in-demand leading men. A title that he still holds today, even at age 71! Over the years, he has starred in a wide range of films, including The Cotton Club, Pretty Woman, I’m Not There, Runaway Bride, Henry & Me, and Hachi: A Dog’s Tale.

Now that he isn’t acting as much as before, Gere puts his investments toward the social causes he supports. He is a co-founder of the Tibet House US, the Gere Foundation, and the board’s
Chairman for the International Campaign for Tibet. Gere is truly a man who walks the talk!
