BARBARA MANDRELL – SINGER
Belonging to a musical family, Barbara Mandrell and her sisters became an integral part of the country music genre. There was also a great degree of pressure, fortunately, Mandrell landed a contract with NBC in the early 1980s. The sisters also became part of the TV variety show, Barbara Mandrell and The Mandrell Sisters, which had moderate success. When the show ended, the sisters were relieved as they could finally rest their voices.
Mandrell also tried acting and appeared on Burning Rage, Empty Nest and Medicine Woman. She went on to become a very successful singer and a member of the Grand Ole Opry. Her last performance on stage was in 1997, but she was able to retain her membership despite not having performed regularly. The singer has also been inducted into the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum in 2016. This was on top of the many accolades and awards the singer has received throughout her illustrious career.
