KATE MULGREW

Kate Mulgrew shot to stardom in 1975 when she starred as Mary Ryan in the TV drama Ryan’s Hope. It was not long before she bagged another TV series Mrs. Columbo in 1979 and landed her big break in 1995 as Kathryn Janeway in Star Trek: Voyager. Mulgrew’s role marks the first female captain in the Star Trek franchise. As another Star Trek series launched just a year ago – Star Trek: Picard – many ask if Mulgrew will grace the show as Janeway.

Kate Mulgrew might not reprise her role in the new Star Trek series, but she has made a new name for herself beyond the franchise. Mulgrew played Red in the hit TV series Orange Is the New Black, and her character, like the others, made a significant impact on its viewers. Apart from it, many noticed how her skin looks so glorious despite the supposed “low-key” look of a prisoner. Though she is tight-lipped about her beauty secrets, many think she pays some hefty investment money to achieve the look. Or, she probably just thanks her good genes for it.
